Barbara Ann Corcoran 1949 is an American real estate investor and agent, a Shark on the ABC show Shark Tank, and a real estate correspondent for NBC. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College with a degree in education in 1971  After graduation, she taught school for a year, but soon moved on working various jobs including a side job renting apartments in New York City.

She wanted to be her own boss and in 1973 started a real estate business called The Corcoran Group with a $1000 loan. In the mid-1970s she also began publishing The Corcoran Report on real estate data trends in New York City.In 2001, Corcoran sold her real estate company to the giant NRT Incorporated for an estimated $70 million. She is a columnist for More Magazine, The Daily Review, and Redbook and has written books. In 2005 she was interviewed in Business Week, stating that there was no real estate bubble.
